Test Doctor Support
You can access Test Doctor's built-in help system by pressing the F1 key
from the part of the program you want to learn more about.
You can also
select "Help Contents " from the "Help" menu on Test Doctor's
main screen. Once the help system launches, you can view the table of contents
for the help system, consult the help index, or search for a key word or phrase.
Here are the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How can I find out the six-digit course code when downloading a class list?
The course code is listed in the flyer to the left of the department name. It usually starts
with three zeros.
Q: When I update my class list, Test Doctor only shows a few students in the on-screen
class list. Have the other students been deleted?
No. The on-screen display in Test Doctor only shows new or deleted students.
The rest of the students are still listed in the Excel gradebook file.
Q: Why does Test Doctor sometimes delete students who are still in the class?
Test Doctor uses the current class list at MnSCU. If a student is dropped from the list through
an error or non-payment of fees, the student is deleted during the update process. That's why it's
suggested that you not update your class list with Test Doctor after any scores have been entered
in the gradebook.
Q: I scanned a test with Test Doctor but the scores didn't appear in the gradebook.
What happened?
The most likely possibility is that the answer sheets were started in the scanner before Test Doctor
was able to establish a link with the scanning machine. When you click the Scan Forms button
in Test Doctor, you need to wait for the LCD window on the scanner to blink before scanning the
forms.
